Introduction

What is a rice bran enzyme hot bath?

The enzyme bath heat is generated through the fermentation of thousands of microorganisms inside the rice bran. The cell division of those resident flora produce the heat.
By airing the bath once a day and feeding fresh rice bran and little water once every few days will keep the microorganisms perpetually alive.
The sweat and waste from the body will be the food for the microorganisms, promoting their cell division and the production of the enzymes.
The natural radiant heat, which can reach up to a maximum of 68 degrees Celsius (122 degrees Fahrenheit), reaches the symptomatic area, to promote healing of the body to restore its healthy state.

Microorganisms tell how to live

Enzyme baths are a traditional therapy that originated in Japan, which involves immersing the body in fermented rice bran. Clients soak in warm rice bran, whose high temperature is due to a fermentation process, and spend time freeing their minds and bodies, leading them to feel revitalized. We call this time “The Miraculous 15 Minutes”. We firmly believe that enzyme baths are a great way to help our clients feel better.
If you decide to go into this business there are certainly some initial costs, but the running expenses are low and no special skills or qualifications are required. However, you must use a shovel daily to stir the rice bran and you must have the courage to handle living things (enzymes).
We have inherited a special “Rice Bran that Produces Fermentation Heat” developed in a historic laboratory. This “Fermenting Rice Bran” produces a temperature of about 70 degrees Celsius when it is maintained by humans. In addition, the quality of the rice bran will improve the more people bathe in it, as this promotes heat generation. Sweat and other residues from the human body promote the fermentation of the bran. These residues are converted into other beneficial substances in a short period before the next person enters the rice bran bath. The enzyme baths have a particular smell caused by fermentation, but it is not an intolerable odor for people as it is natural. In Japan, a food called “Nuka-zuke” has been popular since ancient times. It is a type of fermented food that can be found in many countries and its preparation consists of putting fresh vegetables in rice bran to preserve them for a long time. In other words, an enzyme bath is like taking a bath in “Nuka-zuke”. The bathtub is filled with thousands of different types of countless microorganisms. This microbial world is constantly changing. Microorganisms, like humans, breathe and feed (on rice bran and human body residues), excrete, and repeat this cycle to generate heat.
We make steam baths by harnessing the life of the microorganisms in the heated rice bran and benefit from their life-supporting properties. Tens of trillions of micro-organisms act in the human body through the pores to revitalize the human cells.
This “Heat-generating Rice Bran” is sustainable and will continue to emit heat if it is consistently cared for daily. No electricity or gas is used to generate the heat, only bran and water. It requires a bit of effort and physical labor, but the maintenance costs no money and can be used indefinitely. Like a child or a pet, the bran needs care. It will generate warmth if it is always lovingly tended with the care techniques we will teach you. Such tending consists of the process of stirring and aerating the bran in the bathtub with a shovel. Of course, it requires some arm strength. The stirring process is similar to mud therapy or earthing. Once you get used to it, it will be an enjoyable process, like working on a farm. However, it is very different from making compost.

Our business is to share this “Heat-generating Rice Bran” with you and to teach you all the related know-how for your enzyme bath business. If you want to open a store there are probably many things you would like to know: what kind of design is right for the store, how to effectively maintain the natural heat of the bran, how customers should be placed in the rice bran bath to ensure their satisfaction, whether sick or injured customers can enter the bathtubs, what type and quality of raw bran to choose, and so on. We have 25 years of experience in this business and during that time we have helped many people open their businesses both in Japan and abroad. This business is small but long-lasting and its operating costs are low. We strongly believe that fermentation is a sustainable energy source and gives it to people daily. That is what we need in this day and age. The contracts we offer vary in price depending on the number of bathtubs.
The bathtubs will be made on-site, and we will provide you with a blueprint once you decide to open a store. The price varies depending on several factors: the number of employees that will work in the store, the size of the establishment, how many bathtubs you want to install, if the installations will be only for women or if they will be for both women and men, as well as the number of showers you want to have. We would like you to tell us the number of bathtubs you want using the email form below and we will send you a quotation. We will also provide you with advice on the design of your store based on the flow of customers inside the facility to optimize the number of people you can accommodate. We are available for business meetings via email or Zoom.
The training can be conducted once the store to be opened has a shower and a bathtub for the bran installed. The training does not take place in Japan, it will occur in situ after the store opens in the selected location. At that time the fermented bran will be shipped from Japan and our job will be to cultivate it so that it produces heat.
For the training, you will be required to pay transportation and lodging expenses for two people in addition to the training fee. You can choose with complete freedom the name of the store. There are many ways in which you can set up this business, as it is possible to combine it with a gym, a beauty salon, or set it up in a hotel or a condominium. You are completely free to combine the form of the business in the way that best suits your management.
If you are interested in this business, you are welcome to come to Japan and experience our enzyme baths by yourself. We operate our store in Setagaya Ward, Tokyo. We are confident that this experience will be a simple yet unforgettable Tokyo memory.

About Radon Baths

The ceilings of our enzyme baths are coated with a layer of radium crystal powder. There are many reasons behind this.
The radium crystal is imported from Australia and is finely ground into powder. When applied to the ceiling, the radium crystal produces a gas called radon that drops into the room. The substance called radon, which has the atomic number 86, contains a small amount of radiation. Thus, our enzyme baths are always in a state where radiation of 0.16 microsieverts is constantly “raining” from the ceiling.
Radon produces negative ions, which reduces the heat of the enzyme baths, so the air is always cool as if it were a cave inside the room. Enzyme baths emit a fermentation odor due to the vaporization of acetic acid, but radon helps to eliminate this odor on a molecular level, which is completely different from other methods of masking odors such as deodorizers. Thus, radon plays a crucial role in suppressing the fermentation odor and the heat of the enzyme bath.
Unfortunately, unlike in Europe, radon baths are not covered by health insurance in Japan. The Badgastein tunnel bath hospital in Austria is famous for its radon baths.
In Japan, Tamagawa Onsen in Akita Prefecture and Misasa Onsen in Tottori Prefecture are famous for their radon hot springs. This therapy is called “T?ji,” or hot-spring cure, and is used to treat injuries and illnesses. Radon powder is an excellent natural thermotherapy that works exceptionally well with enzyme baths and reduces the odor problem associated with them.
We have a patent for this radon powder, and we are licensed as a center that offers both enzyme baths and radon baths at the same time.
In addition, once the radium coating is applied to the ceiling, which costs approximately the same as an A/C unit, it is maintenance-free and does not need to be replaced. For these reasons, we consider these facilities to be truly sustainable.
We have radon powder for sale. If you are interested in purchasing it, please use the inquiry form and we will be glad to send you a quote.

The Full Year Cycle of Enzyme Bath

Taking care of the enzyme bath may seem like a muddy, antiquated job, but handling the rice bran allows you to truly sense the four seasons even in the city.
Its process has a familiar feel to Earthing or mud therapy, allowing our minds remain peaceful.
Just like farming or cooking, anything intrinsically essential to us are unchanging and arduous.
Through the times, many things have become more convenient or condensed, but essential things always remain simple.

Spring enzymes have a pungent smell. Like the acridity of wild vegetables it calms the restlessness you may feel during this season.
Most of our clients who suffer from hay fever leave with their noses clear after taking a soak in the spring enzyme bath.

In the summer, the enzymes become nearly odorless and even refreshing.
The microorganisms become very active and lively.
The enzyme baths leave you feeling fresh even in the lingering summer heat because the enzymes help to reduce swelling in the body.

Autumn is the season of dryness.
Humans also need to drain their lymph and blood.
Just as living things crave water, enzymes come alive when you add water.

Enzymes become heavier in the winter.
Winter is a hard season for the microorganisms to live as bacteria survive in higher temperatures.
Creating an environment for microorganisms to facilitate their survival is key.

As we care for them throughout the seasons, we feel as if the enzymes teach us how to live.
But perhaps the enzymes are simply saying, “We are just doing what we wish”.

The possibilities of enzymes are endless.

FAQ

Do I always need to take care of the enzyme bath every day?

No, it is not necessary. More times than not you will need to take care of your own physical and mental health, or you may have urgent matters.
In such cases, we will instruct you on how to let the enzymes go dormant and prepare them again for the business day.
Please keep in mind though, that you are raising living things.
As ”Nuka-zuke” (pickled vegetables in salted rice-bran paste) tastes better when you care for it with your hands every day, the more you can tend to the enzyme bath, the more it will repay you. Time off should be within the bounds of common sense.
